Happy Thanksgiving! Hope it was a good one, stuffing our faces wiht food, just so we can feel worse about each other and our selves. Well it all started when the Pilgrims and Indians had a feast in 1621, that lasted 3 day, this was known as they first thanksgiving celebration..ehhh! Wrong! The Pilgrims were Seperatists, who did not believe, or want to believe the religion of their king and the other people of their kingdom. So they had "secret" meetings, or mass, or services, whatever you wanna say. Then they made the plan of building the MayFlower and sailing accross the sea's to the new land. When they were sailing so many people got sick that they died. The sickness spread killing lot of other people. Once they reached shore, noone was alowed off until they thought of the MayFlower Compact. A document of first goverment, with out a king, and laws that were fair. When they got un-boarded the ship, they had landed in Plymouth. The native americans discovered these poor people and taught them how to hunt, grow crops, and fish. The "first ThanksGiving" was actually just 91 natives out of hundreds who had helped them survive, by showing them how to hunt, grow, and fish. Yes, the "feast" did last 3 days but there was no, pumpkin pie, cider, potatoes, butter, milk, or bread. But they did have some bird, similar to turkey, and they had boiled pumpkin, and also had fish, berries, watercrest, lobster, dried fruit, clams, plums, and venison(Deer).Happy thanks giving!! And Happy Holidays(:
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you are having issues with your relationship(s), try to start working backward. Not just the things you enjoy doing together, but the things you like about each other. There probably was a good way that ya'll fell in love with in the first place, so try to concentrate on the good things about each other. So lets say, if you loved their sense of humor, try to make them smile more often. And if you loved the late night talks that lasted until midnight, then take the chance and go to school/work/whatever a little tired. Whatever it is you loved, try to bring it back out of hthem. This works most of the time. If it still doesnt work, and you are bored, or hes bored, then its not worth it, unless you really want to keep it together for the sake of the love that brought ya'll together. So try not to add a 'lil bit of extra stress to the situation. Stress causes most realtionships to down spiral, just because you take it all out on your man, or dont have enough time for them. Now that sucks! There is always going to be a life crisis, from stress, or family issues. And there is always going to be a deadline, or stress, or maybe even money issues. But its part of day-to-day life..and you will most likley manage through if you dont give up on each other.
My alarm clock woke me with a startling burst of annoying sounds. I leaped out of bed tripping over something on my not so messy, not so clean floor, causing a not so great nose dive into my soft shaggy tan carpet, and accidentally bonking my head into my dresser Ouch. I laid there for a while, probably not even five minutes just petting and stroking the soft carpet, and also waiting for my head to stop throbbing and aching. I got back up. Opening my dresser drawers and reaching for my faded bleach-blue jeans, and “Never Shout Never” concert t-shirt. Then next, my closet looking for the perfect pair of shoes to top it off. My black converse. I finished getting ready, I pounced down the stairs, almost tripping and falling again. I grabbed my bag, an apple and my phone then headed for the door. My mom stopped me half way to the door “Bye Delilah, happy birthday! Have a good day at school, I love you!.” my mom said to me “thanks, bye, love you too mom!” I said as I opened the front door, stepping out and getting a slap in the face from the bitter, crisp, miserable cold air. In Nacogdoches, its only cold in the winter, and hot in the summer. Like Conroe. Living in Texas is fun, because you get a taste of everything. I hid from the wind, by covering my face with my jacket. I walked to my purple mini cooper. Feeling a sliver of ice on the side walk catch my foot, and went crashing down, again, but this time more like the Titanic, and I landed on my butt. It was a cold day, and the wind chill sure wasn’t helping. Just as I was getting up my boyfriend Sam was pulling into my drive way with his shiny black Corvette. I raced to the passenger side of his car, hoping that my clumsy self wouldn’t trip again. I opened the car door, jumping in, thanking God that I didn’t fall. I looked over at his black rock star, emo-ish hair, and gorgeous vibrant green eyes. Sam leaned over and kissed my thick, full, rosy lips with his soft, perfect ones. Making my heart race like crazy. “Hey Delilah. Happy seventeenth birthday baby!” Sam said, like he was hungry saying my name. “Hey Sam, and thanks.” I said back, my voice almost breaking and cracking. I turned the radio on and we sang the whole way to school.
When we got to school, my head was pounding from my “graceful” nose dive into my furniture earlier this morning. Sam parked, and turned off the radio, and I went to get out of the car, but Sam grabbed my arm and pulled me into his arms. He kissed me like we were about to die, and with no inception of stopping. I could feel my body temperature heating up. It was amazing. But every thing has to come to an end, so I pulled back opened my door and hopped out, reaching into the back for my bag. Sam looped his hand through mine and tightened his grip a little, but not that tight. “Delilah!” I heard a thick country accent scream somewhere behind me. I turned almost reflexively and saw my best friend, Gracie behind me. She raced to me and Sam, her blond perfect curly waves bouncing up and down. Once she got there, I got a big hug. Since she was my best friend and I knew every thing about her and I hadn’t seen her in two weeks. Because she went to snow blanketed Germany for Christmas, and today was just the first day of getting back to school. She must of missed me, not that I missed her, but she must of just missed me more. So we started to walk to the front doors of the high school part of Woden. Gracie started talking about how she met some guy in Germany and then a few seconds later the ice started to catch my feet again. I tried to catch my balance but I ended up in the middle of the road still sliding. Then I saw it, Todd’s black pick up truck trying to come to a stop but the ice apparently had other plans. All I remember is looking back over at my friends thinking I was about to die, this is it, then Gracie plowing into me at top speed. And it didn’t even hurt. But instead of just moving me out of the way, I stumbled a few times and then finally rocked back and fell, taking Gracie with me.
I woke up in the nurses office on one of those chairs that people lay down on with head aches in the nurse with three faces hovering over me, Nurse Hog, Sam who looked worried as ever and Gracie who was crying her little heart out, and looked like she was going to die or something. Or probably because Sam chewed her out, yelling at her how it was he fault or something. “Gracie, why are you crying?” I asked. “Oh Delilah, I’m so sorry. Its just, I thought you were going to die! There was so much blood..it scared me.” Gracie gulped out, almost choking on her own tears. “Gracie, how many times did I tell you that Delilah wasn’t going to die!?” Sam barked at her, sounding annoyed. “Ummmm.. I don’t know, lemme count kay. One..two..three..four..errr five..umm I’m thinking about six?” Gracie said sounding so country, but yet so blond at the same time. “Gracie, that wasn’t a literal question!” Sam said. “Gracie was right to worry, Delilah did loose a lot of blood, but she wasn’t going to die.” a sweet little light country voice spoke, it was Nurse Hog. “ummm..what happened? And Gracie, its not your fault and Sam don’t yell at her, please, you know how she gets.” I said “Well when you fell, you hit your head…Pretty hard, because you lost concience and lost a lot of blood. It wasn’t good, and Gracie over there wanted to take you to the emergency room, just because she really did think you were going to die.” Sams sweet calm voice explained “Sam was so strong Delilah! He carried you ALL the way here! From the schools parking lot to the nurse Hog.” Gracie said with her twang clear this time, so no tears. “Ha-ha, wow you carried me? Me and my fat self!?” I asked Sam. “Delilah, umm you way 120 pounds, and your also only 5’5! Your not fat!” Gracie said, interrupting me trying to talk to Sam. “I told your mom I would call her when you woke up, and that was two hours ago.” Nurse Hog said. “Was I really out that long? Sam, Gracie, your skipping school for me? Why aren’t ya’ll in class? I feel fine. Where is Todd? What happened to him?” I asked every one in the room. “Yes, you were really out that long, and I’m not in class just because I was worried about you. And I don’t know why little ms sunshine is still here. And they let that little shit, Todd go free.” Sam said sounding more and more mad by the second. “ Hey! Sam, I’m allowed to be here to. She’s my best friend, and like my sister. I was worried to! And I‘m mad at Todd to, but he didn’t do anything. Well he just was driving and Delilah tripped and I tackled her out of the way.” Gracie said. “Guys, stop fighting. Chill. Ok? No fighting. You both care about me, and I love both of you.” I pleaded. Nurse Hog was on the phone with one of my parents. Probably my mom, since she was yelling through the phone and we could hear her from all the way over there. I kept thinking about what happened. I barely could remember anything. Just a black truck and Gracie and I falling, falling, falling, then nothing but blackness. Lights out. But then Sam looked up at Gracie and nurse Hog. “I need to talk to Delilah. Alone. Please?” Sam asked. “Why can’t I stay? that’s not fair. I want to talk to her-” Sam cut her off my glancing at her. Ok fine, we’ll leave. As Gracie and nurse Hog left the room Gracie turned to wave. I waved back and then she turned as nurse Hog followed her out. Gracie’s cowboy boots making clicking noises on the tiled floor. Once they left Sam turned to me and smiled. “I’m so glad that your ok. You took a pretty bad fall, and worried me for a little bit. But luckily nurse Hog was here early, so she patched you up pretty good. The bleeding stopped a little while ago” Sam said. “ok, so why do we need to be alone?” I asked “Delilah, there is something I need to tell you. Something you might not be ready for. But you have to know.” Sam said. “Spit it out Sam.” I said sounding confused. “You’re a shape shifter Delilah. Your whole family is, even-” Sam tried to say. “Sam, quit playing around! You can’t do stuff like that to me!” I said to him. “Delilah, I’m not playing around! Your family is, Gracie is and her family. Even me.. Your in so much danger Delilah.” Sam said trying to get me to believe him. “Why now? Why not when I was like born or something?” I asked “We don’t know. It depends on what kind of shape shifter you are. The most common kind is when you only have one animal to change into, one for your whole life, that happens when your fourteen. That’s what Gracie, your family, and I have. But, you.. your rare Delilah. Well you see, you can change into anything you want. And your in danger, because people are trying to get to you. To take you, your to special. So we have arranged for you to go to a special school. Away from here.” Sam said. “wow.. So this is true? Its for real? I thought this kind of stuff was fake! Prove it to me that its not. And just where is this school located? I don’t want to go to far from home.” I said “Well this stuff is real, and I will prove it later, I hope. But its in Conroe.” “Wait! Sam.. As in Conroe Texas?” I asked “Yes, but you will have to leave by Thursday.” Sam said. “Oh please tell me your coming to? And Gracie? I asked hopping for a yes. “No, neither of us. You have to keep a low profile, for now.” Sam said sounding worried. “I want to leave now. But I can’t leave you! I can’t loose you.” I said. “You won’t be loosing anybody. The school allows visiters.” Sam said, trying to cheer me up. Then the door creaked open, and Gracie stuck her head through. “I take it you told her?” She asked. “Yes.” Sam responded. “She looks like she might pass out again. Sam, you need to take her home and get her stuff and leave.” Gracie said, her southern accent stronger than ever.
We all got to my house and I unlocked the door, greeted by my mom and dad who were handing me my bags. “I’m so sorry that we didn’t tell you sooner baby girl. We are so sorry. We love you. Everything will be fine” My mom said. “I’ll be right back.” I said running up the stairs, and into my room. I grabbed my favorite blanket and my favorite jacket and went back down stairs. I hugged my mom and dad, told them bye. Sam took my bags, and then we were headed out the door. I headed to my car, but then I felt a hand on my shoulder. “Delilah, we are taking Sam’s car.” Gracie’s twang sounded sorry and apologetic. I took one last glance at my sad lonely looking car, gave up and walked twords Sam’s car. I opened the front door and plopped myself right on in. I grabbed onto and held the leather seat. I felt like crying, but I had no idea why. And then we were on our way. On this cold, rainy day. Good bye my only ever home. Good bye all my friends. Good bye Nacogdoches.
